TAP Air Portugal: Evolving the airport experience beyond parking

About TAP Air Portugal

TAP Air Portugal is Portugal’s flag carrier, connecting customers across an extensive international network from its Lisbon hub and airports across the country, operating across 90 destinations globally.

The challenge

TAP Air Portugal has a long-established airport parking proposition, but wanted to expand the range of services available to customers beyond parking.

With customers travelling through airports across Portugal, Spain and beyond, TAP wanted to build on its established airport parking proposition and make a wider range of useful airport services available to customers.

With an extensive international network, sourcing and managing airport products across multiple destinations can add complexity. TAP needed a way to build on its existing parking offering while creating opportunities to introduce additional products over time.

The challenge was also about visibility and customer reach. With airport services distributed through a dedicated white-label platform, increasing the number of customer touchpoints would be important to helping more customers discover and engage with the expanded proposition.

The solution

TAP Air Portugal’s relationship with Cavu began in 2017 through ParkVia, initially giving customers access to airport parking.

Following Cavu’s acquisition of ParkVia, the partnership has continued to evolve. In January 2026, Cavu launched an upgraded TAP-branded white-label platform, expanding the proposition from parking into three airport ancillary categories: parking, FastTrack and airport lounges.

The platform brings together products from airports and third-party providers, with Cavu managing the product content, availability, pricing and booking fulfilment behind the experience.

Customers can browse and book airport services through a consistent TAP-branded platform, with the ability to add multiple products to a single basket, to help increase the average transaction value (ATV).

The partnership has also continued to expand across TAP’s network, with product coverage including its principal Lisbon hub, other key Portuguese airports, Spain and a wider range of international destinations.

More recently, TAP has introduced an additional touchpoint within its app, directing customers to the platform and making the expanded range of airport services easier to discover as part of the wider customer journey.

Cavu and TAP continue to work together to identify further placements and promotional opportunities to increase visibility, engagement and revenue.

The upgraded platform successfully expanded TAP’s proposition to include Fast Track and airport lounges alongside parking, giving customers access to a broader range of airport services through one dedicated platform.

The recent addition of the platform to the TAP app has created a valuable new customer touchpoint, with early signs indicating improved visibility and encouraging engagement.
